    About Ginger nutrition

Ginger is grown for its aromatic rhizomes and needs loose, fertile, well-drained soil. Organic matter, balanced NPK and potassium in the rhizome-bulking stage decide yield, while zinc and boron are frequently limiting.

    Climate
Warm, humid climate, about 19-30 °C, with partial shade tolerated; grown in high-rainfall or irrigated areas.
    Soil
Loose, well-drained sandy or clay loam rich in humus, pH around 5.5-6.5. Waterlogging causes rhizome rot.

    Stage-wise nutrient management for Ginger

What the crop needs most at each growth stage.

    1. Planting & sprouting

Heavy basal organic manure and phosphorus.

    2. Vegetative growth

Nitrogen in splits with potassium; zinc where soils are low.

    3. Rhizome development

Potassium and boron for rhizome growth.

    4. Rhizome bulking & maturity

High potassium for rhizome size and quality.
