    About Paddy (Rice) nutrition

Paddy is India's most important food crop. Nitrogen in well-timed splits drives tillering and grain yield, while zinc deficiency (khaira disease) is one of the most widespread nutrient problems in Indian rice fields.

    Climate
Hot, humid climate, about 20-35 °C, with plenty of water; grown mainly in kharif, and in rabi where irrigated.
    Soil
Clay or clay loam soils that hold water, pH around 5.5-7.5.
